HIMSS is monitoring the evolving public health guidance regarding large gathering settings and will continue to provide updates and additional guidance. HIMSS continues to ask all attendees, exhibitors, and HIMSS staff to follow all applicable regulations and make informed choices about travel, onsite, and external engagement.
Current guidance is as follows: On Tuesday, July 27, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued updated guidance recommending fully vaccinated people wear masks in public, indoor settings to help prevent the spread of the Delta variant and help protect others. Additionally, on July 27, the Governor of Nevada issued Emergency Directives 045 and 047 (full text can be found via the links here).
For those attending in person, proof of vaccination and masks are required for all attendees, exhibitors and HIMSS staff on the HIMSS21 Campus; masks are also required in all public, indoor spaces in Las Vegas. Please check our Health and Safety Hub for ongoing updates.
The following protocols will also be in place during HIMSS21:
This year, HIMSS will be offering two paths for the HIMSS21 Global Health Conference & Exhibition. Our in-person conference continues as planned August 9-13, 2021 in Las Vegas. Additionally, we recognize that there are members of the HIMSS community that are not able or are seeking an alternative to attending in Las Vegas. That’s why we created HIMSS21 Digital. HIMSS21 Digital content and programming is a unique extension of HIMSS21 in-person experience —not a duplication or full livestream of on-site activities. For those that cannot attend HIMSS21 in-person this year, the Digital program is the perfect solution for them to still engage with HIMSS community members and access to vanguard, tailored programming to fuel their personal and career development. HIMSS continues to ensure that each person can choose the attendance path to HIMSS21 that best fits their personal needs.
