LAHIMSS had a successful close to 2023 as we joined Mississippi and Alabama HIMSS community for the Annual Gulf Coast Conference (GC3) in Biloxi, where industry experts shared their insights on digital health, cybersecurity, interoperability, health policy, health equity, and the latest in ML and AI. Our vendors provided attendees with a showcase of the latest Health IT market solutions, making this event an informative and engaging experience for all. Thank you to all who contributed to making this event a success!

In addition to our upcoming social events, LAHIMSS will also be producing new podcasts beginning in March, 2024. Our community will now have the convenience of accessing the latest information at any time. As we schedule speakers, we will be sending out a request for your questions, giving you the opportunity to have your voice heard.

Errol Labat/Louisiana HIMSS Annual Scholarship



The Louisiana Chapter of HIMSS provides assistance to students in the fields of health information technology through the Errol Labat, LaHIMSS Chapter Scholarship.

In today's world, technology is rapidly transforming the way healthcare is delivered. Our Health Information and Technology Scholarship is designed to support individuals like you who are determined to make a difference in the healthcare industry.

Louisiana HIMSS awards $1,000 to one student each year to be used in a HIT undergrad or grad related program at Louisiana Tech. Your completed application, transcripts, and a written statement are due before April 30th. The recipient will be notified and award announced by the Summer (May/June) in preparation for the Fall semester.
